On February 1, 2021, the Fishing for the Fight family lost one of our most cherished members, Gary Collins, to an unfortunate and untimely passing. Gary was a founding Board Member of Fishing for the Fight and was a strong advocate for people with chronic illnesses and other debilitating conditions. Gary himself battled a chronic condition and brought a voice and a perspective to the organization that will be irreplaceable. Among his many qualities, he will forever be remembered for his generosity, kindness, compassion, and brilliance, and his legacy will be a lasting impression on the Fishing for the Fight community.

 

In his honor, Fishing for the Fight has changed the name of the “Ambassador Team,” an honorary team comprised of families and friends of someone battling a serious life-threatening illness, to “Gary’s Team.” An enduring tribute to our friend and colleague who helped build our dream of the Fishing for the Fight tournament.
