Eli Lorg

Guide

Eli Lorg has always thrived in the pursuit of passion – first as an athlete and now as a dedicated angler and filmmaker. A former standout baseball player at the University of Tennessee, Eli captained the 2005 Volunteers team that battled its way to the College World Series. The discipline, leadership, and love for the outdoors that shaped his baseball career now fuel his lifelong connection to fishing.

These days, Eli spends much of his time on the water with his kids, Isla and Axel, passing down his appreciation for fly fishing, adventure, and the stories that unfold along the way. His deep respect for the sport extends beyond just casting a line – he has become a skilled storyteller, using film to capture the beauty, challenges, and camaraderie of the fishing world.

His work as a filmmaker has earned widespread recognition, including Best Short Film from Drake Magazine in 2023. His latest project, Left Field, is set to be featured in the 2025 Fly Fishing Film Tour, further solidifying his role as a creative force in the industry.

Eli is beyond excited to be a part of Fishing For The Fight, a cause that brings together his love for fishing and his passion for making a difference. Being able to contribute to such a meaningful event – one that supports those in need while celebrating the sport he loves – is something he deeply values. Whether he’s chasing wild fish, crafting compelling narratives, or sharing the experience with his family, Eli continues to bring the same dedication, energy, and love for the outdoors that defined his baseball career. His journey proves that while the playing field may change, the drive to compete, explore, and inspire remains constant.
