I caught my first trout at 5 years old, on the Battenkill, while camping on the river in a 1962 Ford station wagon, on a rod dad helped me build, with on a fly he showed me how to tie.
I was blessed to be shown the great wonders of the outdoors the old-fashioned way. My father’s words were, “It’s only a fair catch if you build the rod, tie the fly, and release the fish.” Don’t tell him I’ve cheated along the way!
We found Sublette County in 1970 as guests at Lozier’s Box R Ranch, and then hired on the next summer. I came back to Wyoming as a wrangler, guide, cowboy, fishing, and hunting over the next 20 plus years whenever I could. I’ve been able to enjoy God’s creation for myself and guiding clients.
Throughout my career experiences, whether as an employee or starting and running small businesses, have given me a great foundation to serve others. It is an honor and humbling to be able to continue giving back to those in Sublette County through FFF. Nothing like a big old Cajun meal to thank all those who give so much to help others.
